Bachelor of Arts in English with a focus in creative writing and a minor in history.
Experience
I have taken classes outside of the creative writing field that have left me well versed in essay writing for undergraduate literature courses, research papers,and citations (MLA and Chicago Turabian style guides). I have taken several pedagogical courses, but only at the introductory level. I have also built portfolios and minor anthologies of other author's works for assignments so I can guide in the selection and layout of those as well. Rates are lower for creative writing students if they are looking for workshop style feedback. First session is at normal rate, following sessions at $12 an hour. Sessions could grow to free if students are of a similar style and are willing to workshop my work as well. Creative writing students looking for help with the creative process only will be charged the normal rate.
Availability
Weekdays in the morning, Saturday in the morning, Sunday after 6PM
Can Meet
Up to 1 hour away at my regular hourly rate, Up to 30 minutes away for a flat fee, Up to 25 minutes away for no additional charge
Hobbies
I am an avid reader and writer. I currently work in the service industry while applying to grad schools. I am dedicated to the task set before me, yet I am fairly laid back. I do offer an intensity when it comes to crunch time, but it is not overbearing and should allow the student to feel added pressure without being overwhelmed.
