I have been working with students since I was first able to hold a job at the local YMCA. I moved to Raleigh, NC in summer of 2014. I enjoy being at the beach in the summer time and love exploring the outdoors. In my free time, I like to explore the sights of Raleigh and attend the local music events that are held throughout the Triangle. I have completed my CPR and First Aid certification. I began as a general education major in college, but found my heart in teaching students with special needs when I joined my sorority Alpha Xi Delta. Through my experience with Alpha Xi Delta, I had the opportunity to work closely to fund raise and host community events with the organization Autism Speaks. Since beginning my teaching career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings- including resource, self-contained, and inclusion models- each one has allowed me to encounter diverse experiences, and no two days are exactly the same.
