Education

I received my B.S. in Mathematics from Wake Forest University in 2013. I was on the Dean's List every semester while at Wake, and I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Honors in Mathematics. My overall GPA was 3.87, while my math GPA was 3.96. I received my M.S. in Mathematics from North Carolina State University in 2015. I completed my degree with a 4.0 GPA. I currently am pursuing my PhD in Mathematics, with an expected graduation date of 2018.

Experience

I have served as a tutor in the Math Center at North Carolina State University since 2014. I also have taught Calculus at NC State. I received a 730 score on the SAT Math (640 Verbal, 720 Writing) and a 165 score on the GRE Math (165 Verbal). I have completed all math classes grades K-12 including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, and AP Statistics. At the college/graduate level, I have taken Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Analysis, Abstract Algebra, Differential Equations (Ordinary and Partial), Geometry, Differential Geometry, Complex Variables, Matrix Theory, Computer Algebra, and Lie Algebras. I have a great affection and dedication for mathematics, and my desire to help others gain a greater appreciation of the subject is the main reason why I choose to be a tutor. In addition to my academic achievements, I also am an accomplished pianist and an Eagle Scout.

Hobbies

One of my greatest interests outside of math is music. I have played the piano for nearly 20 years, and I have played the saxophone for 13 years. In particular, I have received honors from the North Carolina Piano Guild for my piano playing. I was a member of the Boy Scouts of America throughout my teenage years. I earned the rank of Eagle Scout during my senior year of high school. I started playing baseball at the age of 8, and I played all the way through high school. I also played soccer from age 4 through my sophomore year of high school.
