Experience
I was born and raised on the island nation of Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean, and recently moved to the U.S. alongside my wife. Back home, I earned a college degree in the field of Chemical Engineering and spent most of my career as an engineer in a variety of industries. While I do not have any formal teaching experience, I have helped tutor high school students in the subject of Physics and Math. As such, these two fields are the ones I am most comfortable teaching in, but I am open to teaching others subjects, such as French. Mathematics covers a wide range of topics, but I am confident tutoring in everything from Basic Arithmetic to Algebra to Multivariable Calculus. My teaching strategy is based on interactivity and visualization. I find that student often struggle with abstract theories, and the key to unlocking someone's learning potential often comes with being able to apply it to a real-world scenario. The strategy of visualization seems to be a very effective one particularly in the theoretical field of Physics and higher levels of Mathematics. In my free time, one of my favorite things to do is attend concerts.
