Experience

I have tutored for several students at multiple levels, including middle and high school, undergraduate, and graduate school, for various purposes and pursuits, be they college admissions essays and SAT/ACT study preparation; construction and revision of argumentative essays; theses. I have been able to mentor more than 8 high schoolers who have received admission to Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and Georgetown. In the past, many of my students have seen an increase of up to 300 points in the Reading and Writing section of their SAT. I taught several courses during my time at graduate school at Yale University in Shakespeare, critical reading and writing comprehension, Reading and Writing for the Law, and the American Novel. My concentration for my PhD was in English Renaissance Literature, focusing in particular on the poetry of the period. I am a very friendly, conscientious, enthusiastic, and caring tutor who wants my student to succeed at whatever her or his goals may be. I’m also very attentive to my student’s needs and personality, tailor making each lesson accordingly. I can only want her or him to succeed as much as she or he does, and I’m always one to stress that diligence and hard work always pays off.

Hobbies

I enjoy in my spare time playing tennis, running triathalons, traveling, cooking, and spending time with my shih tzu, Lulu. I currently work part-time for a college admissions program that assists potential admittants to top-tier and Ivy League universities with their academic portfolios and essays.
