Christina G.
Private tutor in Raleigh, NC
Education
Graduate of the University of Richmond with a BA in Spanish and Secondary Education Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola College in Maryland I have taken courses in Spain and Costa Rica that were focused on language acquisition for non-native learners.
Experience
I have taught Spanish for 16 years at the middle and high school level and have tutored most of those years. My students have been very successful with increasing their understanding of the language and improving their grades in their classes. I have studied in Spain and Costa Rica and served as a translator on a missions trip to Mexico. I understand that all students learn differently, so as I work with students, I try to incorporate various strategies that will best suit their needs. Working with students and seeing them grasp material that was once difficult, is a great feeling. I believe that there are not shortcuts to being successful, which means that results may not be immediate, but will come slowly over time. My goal is to make sure that students master the material, and for some students that may happen quickly, while for others, it may take several sessions.
