- Certificate in TESOL at UMBC (University of Maryland, Baltimore County) - Associate Degree in Applied Linguistics (English Language Teaching and Literature) at Institut Superieur Pedagogique Kikwit, DR Congo (1989) - BA in Applied Linguistics (English Language Teaching and Literature) at Institut Pedagogique National - Binza, Kinshasa, DR Congo (2001) - I did my Maters in Applied Linguistics but I have not graduated yet.
Experience
I have taught a lot of subjects as language aspects including grammar, writing, phonetics, morphology, etc. I have taught both English and French regular classes and have dealt with tutoring since September 1990. I have taught at Kindergarten, Elementary School, Middle School, High School, College, and University. I like tutoring because teaching is my passion. In my opinion there is no better job than teaching. On my first day of tutoring I take all my time to check what the learner wants to know (Needs Analysis). Then, from that point, I search for a specific approach, method, technique, or procedure that can better fit as each student is a 'special', different case. This step is critical because the way to transmit knowledge matters as well as the knowledge itself. Last but not least, I always make tutoring fun, never boring. And it always works.
