Education
Graduate of Raleigh Charter High School spring 2014. I am a sophomore elementary and special education dual major at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I am a Lloyd International Honors College student with a 3.9 GPA. I am a member of the Alpha Lamda Delta Honors Society and a Chancellor's List student of UNCG.
Experience
In high school, I tutored elementary math at Neighbor to Neighbor in Raleigh, focusing on strengthening fraction and division skills. I also scored highly in the ACT, AP Environmental Science, Psychology, and Government and Politics exams. At UNCG, I received A's in TED 222, an elementary and middle grades mathematics teaching course, as well as in honors TED 250, an introductory to teaching course that focused on the importance of feedback to children that cultivates intrinsic rather than extrinsic motivation towards learning. In the past year, I've held two internships in Greensboro: in the fall of 2014, I interned in a pre-kindergarten special education classroom at Peck Elementary, and in the spring of 2015 I interned at Johnson Street Global Studies School in an upper elementary grade high-functioning special education classroom. I have a strong passion for teaching, especially in special education and mathematics.
