Complete at Lees-McRae College. Captain for the Lees-McRae Softball team and pitcher.
Experience
I Currently Teach math at the 8th grade level in Garner Nc, but I live in the Raleigh area. I have taught at the middle school level for two years. I am currently the Math department chair for our school (which means I provide information to all math teachers as well as take care of the schools math responsibilities such as check calculators, attending county math meetings, lead school meetings, distribute the mathbooks, and much more). I also coach the school women's soccer team, assistant coach to the women's softball team, and run a club called Math Buddies. I have currently tutored students from 4th- senior year in Highschool. I previously taught in Harnett County for 5 years. I taught 5th grade for two years and 4th grade for three years. I am trained in IB curriculum. I love tutoring because it provides me with the opportunity to work one on one with students. I want every child to know that they can succeed. Math can be a challenging subject, but with basic skills and and an innovating teaching style children CAN BE SUCCESSFUL in mathematics. I incorporate hands-on activities and manipulative throughout lessons.

Hobbies
You will find me in the outdoors, camping, hiking, playing with my doggies, playing softball, or soccer or enjoying a swim in a lake. I love scary movies, but will watch just about anything. I enjoy listening to live music; bluegrass, country, folk, or just about anything. When it comes to children I have a knack for getting children to open up. I think its the red hair. I try to find out what they're interested in and use that to teach.
