Experience
While getting my undergraduate at Elon University, I worked as a general chemistry tutor for three years. The school has general tutoring hours for chemistry and anyone who was having trouble understanding or needed more one-on-one teaching was welcome to come. All tutors, including myself were hand chosen from the general chemistry professors based on the five students each year that had the best grasp of the information and who were thought would make the best teachers. I would often have 8-10 people at each session and would help them with any of their conceptual questions, whether it be about lecture or lab. Since we were not allowed to technically help with homework, we had to make worksheets that went along with each concept, so I have experience coming up with lesson plans. I also worked as a private tutor in general chemistry and met with a girl one-on-one to help her understand the subject better. Although I was not s I also have experience in teaching people younger than college aged. Last January I took part in a service learning trip to India. We traveled around the state of Kerala visiting different high schools to teach science exhibits to the students. Each student in this program was given a topic and tasked with coming up with an interactive exhibit to help to teach it to the students in an educational and exciting way. Because I got my bachelors in Biochemistry I have taken many science courses that will help with my tutoring abilities including, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, quantitative analysis in chemistry, cell biology, genetics, immunology, and instrumental analysis
