I am a second year PhD student in the Human Movement Science curriculum at UNC Chapel Hill where my focus is on Sport-Related Traumatic Brain Injury Research. I have a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Athletic Training and have worked clinically throughout my academic career. My background is heavy in anatomy, physiology, medical examination/evaluation, emergency care, and rehabilitation of injuries. I am also a professor within the athletic training program at UNC where I teach Fundamentals of Athletic Training - Lower Extremity Evaluation. Along with athletic training specific courses, I have also been a professor for Anatomy (from 24 to 300 students), and Cadaver Anatomy (both dissection and observation). I am also a tutor for student-athletes at UNC where I focus primarily on Exercise Science, Anatomy, and Kinesiology-based courses including Biomechanics.
Experience
As a tutor and a teacher, I have several goals for my students. First and foremost, I want you to be excited about what you're learning. I try to make the information as applicable as possible to you and your goals. Second, I want you to do well and get good grades in the course. By applying the information in an enjoyable manner I often find that students are encouraged and willing to spend time studying the material and therefore the grades come more easily. As a student, the courses that I was excited about were the ones I found the easiest and most rewarding. Therefore, if we can find something that encourages you to keep pushing in all of your courses, hopefully they can all be just as rewarding, even if in slightly different ways. My main job is to help you achieve your own goals without impeding on your success. I expect my students to work hard and put just as much effort into yourself as I put into you.

Hobbies
My favorite things to do include playing/watching sports, being active, playing with my puppy, and hanging out with friends/family. I also enjoy traveling whether it is for my job as a researcher, or for vacation.
